Piedmont - Good depth of colour, garnet with brick red rim. Open and spicy nose with notes of dried fruits, woodsmoke and leather. Quite full flavoured with good concentration of approachable damson and wild cherry fruit, a warm and velvety mid-palate leading to the characteristic firm, structured finish.Best drunk with hearty, gamey dishes such as beef or venison but also good with vegetables roasted in garlic, olive oil and strong herbs.
